Croston Tennis Club | Court Resurfacing

Club Survey

Q: Have membership nos increased?

A: Yes

Q: Has court usuage improved?

A: The courts are much more user friendly and safer. The tennis season has definitely been extended into the Winter months.

Q: Who is playing more?

A: I know of 4 kids who have taken up the sport again. Whilst this is not a high number, the fact that they have started in October (out of season) definitely bodes well for next Spring. People are already talking about re-joining when the weather improves.

Q: Has there been an increase in team playing?

A: For next year, our goals are additional teams as follows: 1 Mens Autumn League Team, 1 Winter Team, 1 Mixed Team, and our first Junior Teams.

Q: Is it easier to retain members?

A: Yes, and this is despite increasing our membership fees too…

Q: Is your coaching programme growing?

A: The kids coaching programme has been extended for an additional 6 weeks this winter due to the courts being far safer when wet. We anticipate the adult social sessions to continue throughout the whole winter, which would be great to maintain interest in the game.

Q: How many players are “new to the game”?

A: So far 8, but we expect these numbers to grow considerably in Spring 2017.

“ The funds raised by Bright Ideas for Tennis were invaluable but possibly, even more importantly, their involvement in our project gave us the platform to promote tennis throughout our community. Our existing members were re-enthused, and our kids were inspired by the Davis Cup Open Day. Everyone cannot wait for next season to start. Their involvement has definitely been the catalyst that has enabled our project to succeed.”
